Resident Engineer
Location: Chicago, Illinois
Annual Salary: $102,669.00 per year
What you will do:
· Observe and document water main installation work performed.
· Ensure compliance with design plans, specifications, and permit requirements.
· Evaluate field conditions for IEPA sewer and water separation compliance.
· Calculate and measure quantities in the field for work performed.
· Document Department of Water Management progress and maintain accurate records.
· Create and track daily work order in Department of Water Management database.
· Create end of work and restoration of site work orders.
· Communicate and initiate the daily traffic setup for various locations throughout the city of Chicago.
· Record and update the material used on a daily basis as well as updating the inventory system for weekly and monthly tracking.
· Provide the construction manager with equipment usage which includes rental and city-owned equipment.
· Create and complete meter installation order (MIO) forms for each location.
· Review project plans, oversee contractor, and handle communication from PMO office.
· Record and track line items and daily logs for contractor.
· Utilize the following tools and technologies: Infor10 EAM, Champ, Microsoft word, Microsoft Lens.
· Position requires domestic travel up to 100% as needed and customary for the occupation
Position Requirements:
· The position requires a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Civil Engineering, or closely related field.
· The qualified candidate must have at least 3 months of work experience or equivalent academic coursework, or equivalent technical/professional certification experience in civil engineering.
· The qualified candidate must also have at least 3 months of experience gained through work experience, academic employment or coursework, or equivalent technical/professional certification with all of the following: (a) reviewing plans, changes in drawing, estimates, and specifications; (b) reviewing contract documents and environmental survey requests; and (c) performing field visits for inspections on progress of projects.
· All experience may be gained concurrently.
